"Now inside this harbor there were three boats. A red one. A blue one... and a yellow one. They all sailed far out to the sea, and the red one came back, and the blue one came back; but the yellow boat? The yellow boat sailed straight up to the sun." (Mother)

The Yellow Boat by Arizona playwright David Saar invites you to a celebration of a young artist's life. Crafted around the true events that happened to his family in the early 1980s, The Yellow Boat embraces the concept of living life to its fullest and not giving up hope, even when facing a terminal illness with no cure. This touching story and award winning script comes to the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival based on a production by the University of Central Florida's Project Spotlight One Act Festival - a student run festival creating opportunities for students to explore beyond their course work and the university's main stage season. While the inevitable must happen by the end of our 60 minutes on stage, we hope that the message and opportunity for dialogue with young audience members continues long after everyone has left the theater.
